History
In the old days
The history of Hotel De Blanke Top takes us back to a hotel-café-restaurant from the 1950s, built on a genuine dune-top. A charming and attractive “bathhouse”, as it was called back then, designed to provide guests from the city with relaxation and fresh air.
Spacious and altered
In the early 1960s the hotel was taken over by the married couple of Nico and Henriëtte de Milliano. As descendants of a hotel industry family known for its hospitality and outstanding gastronomy, Hotel De Blanke Top continued in this tradition. Son René de Milliano, his wife Brigitte and sister Monique de Milliano regularly carry out far-reaching renovations. Piece by piece the hotel has been expanded and altered over the years to what it has become today. The hotel from its early period is not recognisable any more in today’s contemporary family resort. So the skyline of Cadzand and the Zeeland-Flanders is set to change again in the near future.
Today
The third generation of the de Milliano is now at the helm. Daughter Kimm de Milliano and her husband Patrick Dielen and other daughter Anne-Laure with her husband Olivier Bott, grandchildren of grandma Henriëtte grandpa Nico, took over management of the hotel recently. Their (grand)parents act as tutors and coaches.
Expansion plans are currently underway with the borough of Sluis and the architectural practice, Arcas, from Knokke. The new-build will consist of an extension to the existing hotel, with guest rooms, suites, meeting facilities and a new wellness area. Apartments with hotel service are also being built for selling. These apartments will all have sea views. The whole new section is being built to a high standard in which design, sun, sea views, value and space are the key words.
We wish everyone a warm welcome to this uniquely located hotel. Come and be pampered like in the old days and relax with the amazing view over the unspoilt view over the beach with the sea and dunes.
